Creating A Listing
Choose a final category, add product details, photos, delivery rules, variants, and category specifics.
Choose The Final Category
Selecting the final category loads the correct rules, listing formats, fees, and item specifics for that product type.
The final category is one of the most important listing choices because it controls the category-specific form, allowed sale formats, feature fees, final value fee rules, and which item specifics appear to buyers.
A broad parent category is not enough for a clean listing. Sellers should continue through the category tree until the final product type is selected, especially for clothing, electronics, collectibles, digital products, and specialist goods.
- Pick the closest final category, not just the nearest parent department.
- Use category search when the product type is easier to describe than browse.
- Review loaded rules before entering the rest of the listing.
Add Item Details
Add a clear title, condition, price, description, SKU if needed, product photos, and any purchasable options such as colour or size.
A strong listing needs a clear title, accurate condition, price, stock quantity, location, SKU where useful, delivery setup, item specifics, and a description that answers the buyer’s likely questions.
Purchasable options such as colour, size, finish, storage, or material should be set up as variants when they change what the buyer can choose. Descriptive item specifics should be used for searchable product facts that do not create a selectable option.
- Use a product title that includes the product type, model, brand, and key attribute where useful.
- Add enough photos for buyers to understand the product from different angles.
- Keep variants separate from item specifics when buyers need to choose between options.
Review Before Publishing
Use the preview and readiness prompts to catch missing photos, delivery details, category specifics, and stock settings.
Before publishing, the seller should check the listing preview, product image order, option labels, delivery rules, return wording, price, stock, and category specifics. This reduces buyer confusion and avoids admin cleanup later.
Readiness prompts are designed to catch practical issues such as missing photos, no delivery service, incomplete category specifics, low variant stock, missing license keys, or digital listings that need hosted access details.
- Preview the product page as a buyer would see it.
- Check the right-side purchase box, item specifics, delivery and returns section, and seller details.
- Save as draft when the listing still needs photos, options, stock, delivery, or category data.
